Troy scored two runs in the first and three in the third off Williamson starting pitcher Kenna Thomas, who took the loss for the Lady Warriors, going three innings and giving up five unearned runs on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts. 

Both of Williamson’s base hits came in their first at-bat as Olivia Gee singled and was eventually driven in on a single by McKenna Buchanan. 

Up 5-1 in the fourth, Troy plated five runs before Williamson got a run back in each of the fourth and fifth innings and the Trojans led 10-3 as they entered the sixth. Troy scored three runs to invoke the mercy-rule after Williamson failed to close the gap in the bottom of the sixth.

Gee scored twice for Williamson and Thomas had the other run scored, while Gee took over for Thomas in the circle and threw three innings and gave up eight unearned runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts. 

Williamson (1-4) is scheduled to return to action on Friday when they host Athens (0-3).
