NTL TRACK & FIELD: WILLIAMSON BOYS AND GIRLS BOTH SWEPT AT TRI-MEET (2024-04-10)

WYALUSING — The Williamson boys and girls Track & Field teams both competed at a tri-meet in Wyalusing on Wednesday and both squads were outscored by Athens and the host Rams. 

The Lady Warriors scored 47 points and got an event win from Olivia Meisner as the junior won the shot put (33-4). Athens won the meet with 81.5 points and Wyalusing scored 49.5.

Meisner collected two 2nd place finishes, in the discus (80-6) and the javelin (75-6), while freshman Aubrey Wells also had two 2nd places, in the long jump (13-11.50) and the 100 meter hurdles (18.74). Junior Jade Colwell was 2nd in the 200 meter dash (28.14), sophomore Madalynn Bailey took 2nd in the 400 (1:04.35) and junior Torrina Stratton was 2nd in the 3200 (14:05.52). 

Colwell took 3rd place in the 100 (13.60), Stratton was 3rd in the 1600 (6:10.25) and sophomore Anna Lee took 3rd in the 400 (1:08.81) and in the long jump (13-7). Sophomore Raegan VanGordon took 3rd in the 800 (2:43.64), freshman Clare McKee was 3rd in the 3200 (14:21.59), senior Madison Schoonover was 3rd in the high jump (4-4) and freshman Sayde Loucks was 3rd in the shot put (29-1.50). 

Junior Kylee Stone was 4th in the 100 hurdles (19.34), Wells was 4th in the 300 hurdles (57.00), Bailey was 4th in the 800 (2:44.73), freshman Robyn Cummings was 4th in the 3200 meter run (16:06.49) and junior Alexis Shenk was 4th in the javelin (68-3).

On the boys’ side, Athens won with 80 points while Wyalusing scored 63 points and Williamson had 43. 

The Warriors got two event winners, as sophomore Jeavon Eick won the 800 meter run (2:18.46) and junior Jordan Monroe won the 400 (54.02) with Eick placing 2nd (56.27).

Monroe was 2nd in the 100 meter dash (11.99) and sophomore Braeden Colwell was 2nd in the 200 (24.82) and 4th in the 100 (12.16). Senior Ephraim Monroe placed 2nd in the 3200 meter run (12:47.29) while junior Aiden O’Neal was 2nd in the pole vault (9-6) and sophomore Joshua Teague was 2nd in the 110 hurdles (20.85) and 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles (50.01). 

Senior Ean Bump placed 3rd in both the discus (109-3) and the javelin (101-8), senior Gavin Cloos was 3rd in the pole vault (9-6), sophomore Luke Sottolano was 3rd in the shot put (34-0) and junior Timothy Freeman was 4th in the javelin (104-0). 

The Williamson Track & Field teams are scheduled to compete at Mansfield University’s Molly Dry Invitational on Thursday.
