NTL SOFTBALL: WILLIAMSON TOPPED BY ATHENS (2024-04-14)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportELKLAND — Williamson surrendered a four-run 2nd inning to winless Athens here Sunday and the Lady Wildcats would make the lead stand up as the Lady Warriors fell 4-2 in NTL softball action.
The Warriors scored both their runs in the third inning as Olivia Gee walked and Kaegan Short was hit by a pitch, followed by an RBI single by Kenna Thomas that scored Gee and a sacrifice fly by Mikenna Buchanan that scored Short.
Thomas was tagged with the loss, going all seven innings and giving up four runs (1 earned) on five hits and three walks with seven strikeouts.
Williamson falls to 1-5 on the season with the loss. They’re scheduled to visit Wyalusing on Tuesday.
