Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — North Penn-Liberty sophomore softball player Haley Litzelman and Zack Wilcox, a senior member of the NP-Mansfield Track & Field team, are this week’s Laurel Health ‘Athletes of the Week’ .
Litzelman helped the Lady Mounties to a 10-1 win over the previously unbeaten CV Lady Indians, pitching two innings and allowing no runs on one hit with a pair of strikeouts and added a base hit, an RBI and a run scored. In a 17-0 win over Canton on the road, Litzelman threw a perfect game .. going 4 innings while not allowing a Canton baserunner and striking out five of the 12 batters she faced and added a base hit, an RBI and two runs scored as NPL moved to 6-0 on the season.
The North Penn-Mansfield boys T&F team scored 108.5 points in a tri-meet to top both the host Canton Warriors (54.5) and Meadowbrook Christian (14) as Wilcox won both the 800 meter run (2:04.5) and the triple jump (40-07.00). At the Molly Dry Invitational, Wilcox again won both the 800 meter run (2:01.12) and the triple jump (39-5).
