GIRLS TRAVEL BASKETBALL: WEST PLAYERS ENJOYING SUCCESS WITH NORTHERN TIER HAWKS (2024-04-15)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTOWANDA — The Northern Tier Hawks, a local AAU girls’ hoops team featuring a number of West players, went 1-1 a week ago at Towanda and 2-0 in action this weekend.
The Hawks, coached by Canton's Brock Kitchen and Ryan VanNoy, opened last weekend with a close win over Towanda, then lost to Shamokin, and this week won 42-37 over Interstate Miller and 56-43 over Interstate Warner.
West players on the Hawks include North Penn-Liberty’s Haley Litzelman and Kaylee and Kendall Graham, Wellsboro’s Chloe Brandenburg and North Penn-Mansfield’s Kameron Lightner.
Lightner had a pair of 20-point games this weekend while Litzelman scored 18 points in their first game and 27 in the second, Brandenburg scored 15 and 18 points in the two wins and Kendall Graham scored 17 points on the day while sister Kaylee had 16.
