WYALUSING — Williamson took a late, one-run lead on Wyalusing here Tuesday, but the Rams sent the game into extra innings and completed the comeback with a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning to down the Lady Warriors, 6-5.

Wyalusing scored a run in the second inning and took a 3-0 lead into the fourth when Williamson plated a pair of runs to cut into the Rams’ lead. Wyalusing scored a run in the bottom of the fifth to go up 4-2, but the Warriors scored a run in the sixth and then took the lead in the seventh with two runs and had a chance to close out the game, but Wyalusing sent the game into extras with a run in their last chance and after a scoreless eighth inning, delivered the walk-off and claimed the 6-5 win. 

The Lady Warriors collected four base hits in the game and drew eight walks. 

Mikenna Buchanan had a double, an RBI and a run scored, while Kenna Thomas had a hit, an RBI and scored a run. Kaegan Short and Olivia Gee each had a base hit, while Lexi Smalley walked three times and scored once, Savanna Dean scored and walked twice and Bailee Smith had an RBI and scored a run.

Gee started in the circle for Williamson and went six and a third innings, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Thomas would be tagged with the loss, throwing two innings and allowing one earned run on a hit and a walk with six K’s. 

The Warriors drop to 1-6 on the season with the loss. They’re scheduled to next visit Corning for a non-league game on Wednesday.
