NTL TRACK & FIELD: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD GIRLS SWEEP TRI-MEET, BOYS GO 0-1-1 (2024-04-16)

TROY, PA — The North Penn-Mansfield Track & Field teams took part in a tri-meet here Tuesday, with the girls going 2-0 on the day while the boys tied with Towanda and finished behind the Trojans. 

The girls scored 75.5 points and used six event wins to outdistance both Towanda (59) and the host Lady Trojans (54.5).

Madilyn Scott had two wins, taking 1st in the long jump (14-1) and the triple jump (30-9.50), while Tierney Patterson won the discus (81-9), Anna Kennedy won the 100 meter dash (13.61), Madelynne Johns won the 1600 meter run (6:05.46) and Gabby Bubeck won the 200 (28.84). 

Bubeck was 2nd in the 100 meter dash (13.91), while Kennedy was 2nd in the 200 (28.84), Patterson was 2nd in the shot put (28-4.50), Addison Farrer was 2nd in the 400 (1:08.56) and the 800 (2:44.46) and Madalyn Farrer was 2nd in the 3200 (15:30.50) and 4th in the 1600 (6:20.96). 

Nora Furry was 2nd in the high jump (4-2), 3rd in the triple jump (27-0.50) and 4th in the 100 meter hurdles (20.18) while Laci Fairchild was 3rd in both the 1600 (6:30.28) and the 3200 (15:30.51) and Maryn McCarthy was 3rd in the 400 (1:10.95). Madelynne Johns was 4th in the 3200 (15:30.55) while Abaigeal Garverick was 4th in the 400 (1:12.21), Carolyn Cherwinski was 4th in the long jump (12-11) and Iris Irwin was 4th in the shot put (26-2.50). 

On the boys side, Mansfield got event wins from Michael Knefley in both the 1600 (4;50.45) and the 800 (2:14.22), as well as Luke Kreger taking the high jump (6-0). 

The Tigers scored 38 points .. the same as Townada and behind Troy (113).

Mansfield had no runner-up finishes and Bryce Kent was 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles (51.58), Cedric Miller was 3rd in the 400 meter dash (56.60) and Colton Pellet was 3rd in the 200 (25.07). Fourth-place finishes came from: Brayden Johnson in the long jump (18-7), Brady Stetter in the triple jump (33-9), Keenan Young in the 300 hurdles (58.00), Truman Loudenslager in the 110 hurdles (22.25), Colton Pellet in the 400 (57.23), Peter Bishop in the 800 (2:30.52), Luke Tice in the 200 (25.08) and Charles Aumick in the 3200 meter run (12:28.80).
