WELLSBORO, PA — The Wellsboro Track & Field teams hosted a tri-meet here on Tuesday, April 16th with Wyalusing and Sayre and both the girls and boys squads went 2-0 on the day.

The girls won all but two running events and every field event except for pole vault to rack up 112.5 points, ahead of both Wyalusing (63.5) and Sayre (13).

Piper Hoprich won two individual events .. the 100 yard dash (12.20) and the 200 (26.50) .. and was on two of Wellsboro’s three relay wins .. the 4x100 (52.30) with Emily Richardson, Sophia Yoder and Jordan Rumsey and the 4x400 (4:29.40) with Yoder, Rumsey and Sarah Seeling.

Annie Gehman and Lauren Kosek each won three events, with Gehman taking first in the high jump (4-11), the long jump (15-07.75) and the triple jump (34-02.50) and Kosek winning the 800 meter run (2:40.10), the 1600 (5:46.40) and was on the 4x800 meter relay (12:15.90) with Emily Benjamin, Emily Morris and Jadyn Dunlap.

Madelyn Mascho won the 400 (1:11.10), Grace Harlan won the shot put (30-04.50), Hannah Gilmour won the discus (87-00) and Paige Logsdon won the javelin (98-10).

In the 100 yard dash, Sophia Yoder (13.88) placed 2nd behind Hoprich while Jordan Rumsey (13.98) was 3rd, and Yoder was 2nd in the 200 (28.20). 

In the 100 meter hurdles, Sarah Seeling was 2nd (17.70), Taylor Main was 3rd (19.70) and Kristina Belz was 4th (20.00) while Seeling (55.60) was 2nd in the 300 hurdles and Main was 3rd (57.60). Seeling (91-09.5) also took 2nd in the javelin with Caelyn Reese taking 3rd (75-09) and Hannalee Cleveland in 4th (75-05.5).

Ella Boyce placed 2nd in the high jump (J4-11) and 3rd in the long jump (13-07.75) while Brooke Wheeler was 2nd (6-6) in the pole vault and Elise Largey was 3rd (J6-6), Megan Newruck was 3rd in the triple jump (27-05.00) and Hannah Gilmour was 4th in the shot (28-08.50).

On the boys’ side, the Hornets scored 99 points to win over both Wyalusing (54) and Sayre (36) and had three, two-time individual winners in Jude Cuneo .. 800 meter run (2:16.10) and 1600 (5:14.80) .. Micah Vickery .. 110 hurdles (16.30) and 300 hurdles (42.90) .. and Noah Morey .. discus (137-06) and javelin (154-03). 

Micaiah Fitch won the long jump (18-07.50) and was on the winning 4x100 meter relay team (46.30) along with Jack Bryant, Jacoby Strang and Jonathan Carl. 

In the 100 meter dash, Carl was 2nd (11.40), Bryant was 3rd (11.50) and Strang was 4th (11.70), while Bryant was 2nd (23.90) in the 200 and Fitch was 3rd (24.70). Carl was 2nd (53.60) in the 400 with Josiah Ens in 3rd (1:02.30) while Henry Whitney was 3rd (12:27.50) in the 3200 meter run and 4th (2:48.00) in the 800 and Karter Campbell was 4th in the 3200 (14:50.30). 

In the 110 hurdles David Seeling was 3rd (18.00) and Nehemiah Burrous was 4th (19.30) while Seeling was 2nd (44.60) in the 300 hurdles and Burrous was 4th (50.70). Watson Feil placed 2nd in the javelin (146-09.50) and the discus (107-01.50) and was 4th in both the shot put (36-08.00) and the long jump (17-02). 

Seeling was 2nd (5-10) in the high jump and Vickery was 3rd (5-8) while Carl was 2nd (36-08.00) in the triple jump and Fitch was 3rd (36-04.00). Gabriel Carpenter was 2nd in the pole vault (10-06.00) while Levi Stone was 4th in the discus (85-10) and Mitchell Butler was 4th in the javelin (121-04.50).
