NTL TRACK & FIELD: WILLIAMSON BOYS 2ND AT QUAD-MEET, GIRLS 4TH (2024-04-16)

ATHENS — The Williamson Track & Field teams competed against Northeast Bradford, Canton and the host Wildcats here Tuesday, with the boys finishing 2nd and the girls, 4th.

Kristian Mizdail won two events to help the Warriors to 48 points on the day, behind Athens (91) and ahead of both NEB (33) and Canton (17). Mizdail was 1st in both the 1600 meter run (4:35.95) and in the 800 (2:06.39), while teammate Jordan Monroe won the 400 meter dash (54.13) and Aiden O’Neal won the pole vault (11-0).

In the 100 meter dash, Braeden Colwell was 2nd (12.07), Monroe was 3rd (12.16) and O’Neal was 5th (12.53), while Colwell also placed 2nd in the 200 (21.65), Joshua Teague was 2nd in the 300 hurdles (47.46) and 3rd in the 110 hurdles (21.65) and Gavin Cloos was 2nd in the pole vault (11-0) with Troy Madison taking 4th (7-6). 

Ean Bump placed 3rd in the discus (110-9), 4th in both the javelin (117-10) and in high jump (5-2), and Tim Freeman was 3rd in the javelin (120-11). Carsyn Kemp was 4th in the 400 (57.59), with Jeavon Eick in 6th (58.17), while Eick was 4th in the 800 (2:13.82), Matthew McKee was 4th in the long jump (17-1) with Cloos in 5th place (17-0) and Madison finished 5th in the triple jump (33-2) with Teague coming in 6th (33-1).

For the girls meet, Athens was on top with 99 points while Canton (31) and NEB (30) both edged the Lady Warriors (29). 

Williamson couldn’t get an event win on the girls’ side, but Madison Schoonover was runner-up in both the high jump (4-6) and the triple jump (30-4.50), Jade Colwell was 2nd in the 100 meter dash (13.52) and Aubrey Wells placed 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles (18.41). 

Torrina Stratton placed 3rd in both the 800 (2:34.10) and the 3200 (13:35.86), Olivia Meisner was 3rd in the shot put (30-7), Alexis Shenk was 3rd in the javelin (83-6) and Nicole Daugherty was 3rd in the high jump (4-4). 

Colwell was 4th in the 200 (28.54), while remaining 4th-place finishers included: Clare McKee in the 1600 (13:49.13), Raegan VanGorden in the 800 (2:37.56), Wells in the long jump (14-5) and Meisner in the javelin (83-6). Fifth-place finishers included: Wells in the 300 hurdles (55.44), Robyn Cummings in the 1600 (6:31.69), Sayde Loucks in both the high jump (4-0) and shot (29-1), Bailey in the 800 (2:38.32), Kylee Stone in the triple jump (28-7) and Schoonover in the long jump (14-3). 

Taking 6th place for the Lady Warriors were: Kyra Daley in the 400 (1:07.81), Kylie Kipferl in the high jump (4-0) and Starr Ordway in pole vault (5-0).
