HIGH SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD BOYS AND GIRLS SQUADS COMPETE AT LASAGNA INVITE (2024-04-26)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWYALUSING — The North Penn-Mansfield Track & Field teams competed at Wyalusing’s Lasagna Invite here Friday, with both squads collecting a handful of top-8 finishes.
The boys scored 22 points, led by a runner-up finish by senior Zack Wilcox in the 800 meter run (1:59.91). Wilcox was 4th in the triple jump (41-2.00) while junior Tayton Strange finished 4th in the high jump (5-10) and 8th in the long jump (19-4).
The boys’ 4x400 meter relay team finished 7th (3:45.61) and freshman Michael Knefley was 8th in the 3200 meter run (10:11.55).
Troy won the boys’ team title with 105.5 points while NP-Mansfield’s 22 points was good for 11th place.
On the girls’ side, Athens won the title with 98 points while the Lady Tigers had eight.
Senior Addison Farrer placed 6th in the 1600 meter run (5:35.52) and 7th in the 800 (2:35.42) while freshman Jaci Fairchild was 8th in the 3200 (12:39.45), junior Madelynne Johns finished 8th in the 1600 (5:31.65) and the girls’ 4x100 meter relay team finished 8th (54.24).
