HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: CV JUMPS OVER .500 WITH FOURTH STRAIGHT NON-LEAGUE WIN (2024-04-30)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWESTFIELD — Cowanesaque Valley used an eight-run 4th-inning to pull away from Addison (NY) and earned a 15-5 non-league baseball win here Tuesday to improve to 8-7 overall on the season.
CV scored two runs in the 1st inning, one in the 2nd, eight in the 4th and four in the 5th. Addison scored two runs in the 3rd inning and three in the 5th.
Larsen Swimley and Kaden Cole had three base hits each and Swimley added four RBI and two runs scored while Cole had two RBI and scored twice also.
Lucas Hamilton, Ayren Morgan and Levi Stahli had two base hits each, with one of Hamilton’s being a double while Hamilton and Stahli scored twice each and Morgan had two RBI. Jordan Vargeson had a hit, two RBI and a run scored while Nick West had an RBI and scored once, Loagan Stickler had an RBI and Carter Ackley scored three runs.
The Indians’ win is their 4th straight and they improve to 8-7 overall on the season. They have a 3-7 mark in the NTL and are 3-4 in the small school. They’re scheduled to return to play on Friday at Sayre. They lost an 8-7 heartbreaker to the Redskins last Wednesday.
