Northern Tier WEST Sports Report
ADDISON, NY — The Williamson softball team built an early lead and won their third straight game here Tuesday, topping non-league Addison, 8-2.

The Lady Warriors struck first as Lexi Smalley singled to lead off the game and after Kenna Thomas drew a walk, Smalley scored on an Addison error off the bat of Mikenna Buchanan. Joelie Stephens would double later in the inning, scoring both Thomas and Buchanan for a 3-0 Williamson lead.

Addison scored a run in the bottom of the first, and the Warriors followed with a four-run 2nd inning, helped by back-to-back-to-back bases loaded walks by Buchanan, Kaegan Short and Bailee Smith.

Williamson added their final run in the 3rd inning when Olivia Gee reached base after being hit by a pitch and scored on an Addison error hit by Smalley. Addison added their final run in the bottom of the 6th.

Thomas threw all seven innings, allowing two runs (1 earned) on seven base hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts.

Thomas and Smalley had two hits each, with Smalley adding two RBI and each scoring a pair of runs. Stephens had a hit and two RBI, Savanna Dean had a base hit, Gee scored twice and Buchanan scored once.

With the win, Williamson improves to 5-9 on the season with six regular season games remaining. They’re scheduled to next host Canton, on Thursday.
