TIOGA JUNCTION — Payton Chapel and McKenna Lightner combined for 29 points and the Lady Tiger defense didn’t allow a Williamson scorer into double figures as North Penn-Mansfield topped the Lady Warriors 47-32.

After a close first quarter NPM held an 8-5 lead, before Chapel hit for eight second-quarter points to lead the Tigers to a 21-12 halftime lead.

Lightner scored seven points in the third quarter and Chapel added five while Ella Farrer hit a three and NP-Mansfield scored 15 to overcome four-point quarters by Williamson’s T.R. Jones and Olivia Meisner and held a 36-22 lead to enter the final frame.

Jones added five points in the fourth quarter to lead the Warriors to a 10-point effort, but the Tigers countered with 11 in the quarter to seal the win.

Chapel finished with 15 points, while Lightner had 14.

Addison Farrer added six points for NP-Mansfield, while Shaniya Sparrow had five points and Ella Farrer had four. Joelyn Farrell had two points and Ella Swingle chipped in with one point in the Tiger win.

The Lady Tigers shot 17-24 from the free-throw line in the win, while Williamson was 1-2.

Jones and Olivia Meisner each scored nine points to lead Williamson, while Lena Lewis added six points. Gracie Stephens had five points and Emma Meisner chipped in with three points.

NPM snaps a five-game losing streak with the win and stand at 5-10 on the season. They are scheduled to host NP-Liberty on Saturday.

Williamson falls to 3-9 with the loss. They are scheduled to visit Wellsboro on Friday.
