DANVILLE — A quartet of West football players .. Cowanesque Valley’s Kade Sottolano and Mikey Sipps and NP-Mansfield’s Gaven Sexauer and Cameron Fabian .. made significant contributions in the North squad’s dominating 36-0 win over the South in the District IV Senior All-Star game here Friday night.

The North defense forced a pair of three-and-outs to start the game before Rocco Pulizzi (Montoursville) scored on a three-yard TD plunge, followed by a successful two-point conversion to give the North an 8-0 lead with 3:34 left in the first quarter.

Just five seconds later, Caiden Williams (Canton) cradled an errant South pass at the 20-yard line and rumbled into the end zone. With a good extra point, the North took a quick 15-0 lead.

The North scored on a long pass play from Logan Almeida (Montgomery) to Naz Smith (Loyalsock) with :14 left in the first quarter and connected on the point after for a 22-0 lead.

In the second quarter, NP-Mansfield’s Fabian scored from a yard out and the North took a 29-0 lead into the half. Fabian would finish with 11 carries for 32 yards on the night.

Sipps was featured heavily in the run game, lining up as a fullback on several of the North’s possessions, and pulled double-duty by playing both ways and lining up at his familiar middle linebacker spot on ‘D’.

Sottolano continued his dominating play from last season and endured multiple double-teams, still managing to rack up multiple tackles and a pair of sacks on the night.

Sexauer played significant time at outside linebacker, resulting in a lot of coverage duties throughout the game.

The North tacked on the final score of the night on a Maddix Dalena (Montoursville) TD run in the third quarter, pushing the game into a running clock with the 35 point mercy rule instituted.

The North rushed for 185 yards in the game, and threw for 143, while the defense limited the South to just 4 yards rushing and 82 yards through the air.
