ON TAP TODAY: A LOOK AT TODAY'S SCHEDULE IN THE WEST (2021-04-23)

Northern Tier WEST Sports Report 
THE WEST — A look at the West teams that are scheduled to play today, including a pair of track & field meets and softball games, as well as a baseball game and a tennis match.

BOYS AND GIRLS TRACK & FIELD
Wellsboro (3-1, 3-1) will travel to Canton (2-4, 2-4). The Wellsboro boys have beaten Troy, 78-70, and lost to Williamson 85-61, while the Canton boys lost to Troy 82-64 and to Williamson 100-45. The Lady Hornets beat Williamson 76-69 and Canton lost to them 79-58. Both lost to Troy, Wellsboro by a score of 96-49 and Canton 92-51.

Williamson (5-0, 4-1) hosts NP-Mansfield (1-3, 1-3). The Warriors hold the edge here in both the boys and girls meets. The girls only loss has come to Wellsboro, while the boys are undefeated.

BASEBALL
North Penn-Mansfield (2-2, 5-3-1) host Cowanesque Valley (2-2, 4-6). NPM has won three in a row, including a walk-off win over Athens and a non-league win over a strong St. John Neumann team. CV will be looking to rebound from a 16-1 loss to league-power Sayre.

SOFTBALL
North Penn-Liberty (1-3, 3-6) hosts Cowanesque Valley (2-0, 7-1). NPL is coming off of two close losses - 5-3 to Athens and 4-3 to Towanda, while CV has scored 44 runs in their last three wins and also suffered a close loss to Athens, 12-11.

Wellsboro (3-2, 6-2) hosts Galeton (1-4). The Hornets look to rebound after their walk-off loss to Wyalusing. Galeton has dropped a pair of games to NTL teams, losing 21-0 against CV and 16-3 against NP-Liberty.

TENNIS
NP-Liberty (1-7) hosts Towanda (7-1). NPL picked up their first win of the season this week against CV. Towanda won the previous match 7-0.
