Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportMONTGOMERY — North Penn-Liberty became the latest victim of 19-1 Montgomery and their dominant pitcher, Faith Persing, as the Mounties were no-hit and beaten 11-1 by the Red Raiders Thursday.
NPL did take advantage of three Montgomery fielding errors to score a run in the third inning, as Hayley Ridge reached base on an error and scored on an error off of the bat of Molli Hall.
Jenna McMullen was tagged with the loss, going two and a third innings and allowing six runs (none earned) on five hits with one strikeout. McKenzi Tice threw two and a third innings also, allowing five earned runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
North Penn-Liberty finishes the season with a 5-14 record.
