NTL SOFTBALL: COWANESQUE VALLEY TO OPEN PLAYOFFS WITH FAMILIAR FOE (2021-05-24) Northern Tier WEST Sports Report Cowanesque Valley earned the number five seed for the District IV Class A softball championships with their 12-8 season record, setting up a third game on the season with number four seed Canton on Tuesday.
The game will be in Canton due to the Warriors’ higher seed, with a 4:30 p.m. start time.
The Lady Indians topped Canton 8-6 in Westfield early in the season, as Mikayla Vargeson homered and CV broke open a close game in the fourth inning.
In their final regular-season game, Cowanesque scored five runs in the first two innings and held on for a 7-4 win over the Lady Warriors.
Both teams boast solid lineups from their one through nine hitters offensively, each with a nice mix of senior leadership and underclassmen.
The winner will play number one seed Northeast Bradford on Friday at Elm Park with a 5:00 p.m. start time.
