NTL SOFTBALL: WELLSBORO FALLS TO BLOOM IN DISTRICT IV PLAYOFFS (2021-05-25) Northern Tier WEST Sports Report BLOOMSBURG — Wellsboro jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in their first round District IV playoff game Tuesday against Bloomsburg, but the Hornets could not contain the potent Panther offense and fell 12-1.
After Chelsie English singled Jordyn Abernathy home for the Hornets only score of the game, Bloom put together a four-run first inning, a six-run second and tacked two more runs on in the third inning to earn the win.
Jena Boyce had Wellsboro’s remaining hit in the game.
Kerrah Clymer started in the circle for the Hornets and threw two innings, allowing 12 runs on seven hits, three walk and two hit batters.
Kylie Boyce threw the final two innings, allowing no runs, hits or walks and with one strikeout.
The loss ends the Hornets season and gives them a 15-6 record overall.
