COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD: COWANESQUE VALLEYS MILLER HELPS MESSIAH TO WOMEN'S MAC TITLE (2021-06-09)

MECHANICSBURG — Cowanesque Valley alum Claire Miller helped her Messiah College women’s’ track and field team to a conference championship this season, the fourth straight title for the Falcons.

After her collegiate debut on March 19th, Miller ran at the York College Twilight Meet on April 1st. Miller, a first year hurdler, won the 400 hurdles in 1:12.97 and placed 2nd in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.75.

On April 8-10th, Messiah hosted an invitational, where Miller would finish 2nd in the 100 hurdles (16.54), second in the 400 hurdles (1:12.15) and second in the 4x400 meter relay (4:28.29).

Miller then ran in the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen Meet #2 on April 17th and won all three events she entered: the 100 meter dash (13.43), the 100 hurdles (16.79) and the 400 hurdles (1:12.84).

At the DeSales University Invite on April 24th, Miller finished 5th in the 100 hurdles (16.70) and 3rd in the 400 hurdles (1:12.05).

Messiah won the MAC Championships, held from May 6-8th, with 172 team points. 

Miller placed 7th in the 100 hurdles (16.55) and ran a season-best in the 400 hurdles (1:11.68), placing 11th.
