LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: SOUTHERN TIOGA 10U'S FINISH THIRD IN DISTRICT 15 (2021-07-08) Northern Tier West Sports Report ATHENS — The Southern Tioga minor baseball team fell 15-2 to Athens Thursday, ending their run in the District 15 playoffs with a third-place finish.
After going 2-1 in pool play .. with a 10-2 win over Canton, a 32-10 win over Tioga Lawrenceville and a 10-4 loss to Wellsboro .. Southern Tioga opened bracket play with a 17-7 win over Susquehanna Area.
They then beat Troy 9-7 and topped Towanda 10-4, setting up a rematch with Wellsboro. Southern Tioga was edged 8-7, dropping them into the consolation game with Athens.
Wellsboro will host Athens for the championship on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
