Connor Kerr recently concluded his first season as a member of the Alfred University track and field team, helping the Saxons to a fifth-place finish at the Empire 8 Championships.
Kerr finished in seventh place in the 400 meter dash at the Championships with a time of 54.95, then combined with teammates Rashid Abuelmaali, Tim Trimboli and John Wendt to place sixth in the 4 x 100 meter relay, in 46.90.
Kerr, Abuelmaali, Chris Mayo and George Mecca placed fourth in the 4 x 400 meter relay with a time of 3:37.94.
Prior to the Empire 8 Championships, Kerr had competed in several meets for Alfred. On April 9 at the Alfred State Track & Field Invitational, Kerr placed fourth in the 4 x 100 meter relay (Trimboli, Wendt, Cody Collins) in 46.26, and 11th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.29.
At the University at Buffalo Invitational on April 17, Kerr placed fifth in the 4 x 400 (Mayo, Mecca, Kyle Jenkins) with a 3:44.69, then placed 11th in the 400 with a 55.61.
Kerr ran the 400 at both the SUNY Geneseo Meet on May 1 and the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic on April 23. He finished 15th at St. John Fisher with a 55.66, then placed 18th at Geneseo with a 55.00.
