COLLEGE ATHLETICS: NP-MANSFIELD'S TICE PULLING DOUBLE DUTY FOR BETHANY COLLEGE (2021-08-01)

Northern Tier West Sports Report
Grace Tice, a 2020 North Penn-Mansfield graduate, recently completed her first year as a member of both the Bethany (WV) College volleyball and track & field teams.

With all intercollegiate sports at Bethany being conducted in the Spring due to covid, Tice’s seasons intertwined, but it didn’t prevent Tice from continuing both her volleyball and her track & field careers.

Tice was a middle hitter/blocker on North Penn-Liberty’s PIAA runner-up squad, and focused on javelin for North Penn-Mansfield.

At Bethany, Tice was a strong competitor for the Bison in the javelin this season, and also competed as a high jumper.

At the season-opening Bethany Invitational on March 27, which included all eight Presidents’ Athletic Conference teams, Tice placed first in the javelin with a toss of 33.58 meters. On April 3, at the Geneva College Classic, Tice placed third in the javelin (32.56 meters) and tenth in the high jump (1.37 meters), then took second in javelin (32.57m) and ninth in high jump (1.32m) at the Thiel College Tomcat Invitational.

After placing second in the javelin (32.89m) at the Grove City Invitational on April 17, Tice placed third (32.49) at the PAC Championships on April 30.

Tice was listed as a notable performer for the Presidential Athletic Conference multiple times throughout the season, and was named Honorable Mention All-PAC as a field athlete.
