NTL GIRLS SOCCER: SECOND HALF NEB GOAL DOWNS NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD (2024-09-26)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportROME, PA — North Penn-Mansfield was tied at halftime with Northeast Bradford Thursday, but the Panthers scored the second period’s lone goal to edge the Lady Tigers, 3-2.
NEB took a 1-0 lead seven and a half minutes into the match before Mansfield’s Brooke Wilcox tied the game at 1-all with a goal at the 14:29 mark off an assist from Karen Wetzel. A minute later, Wilcox gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead with a score off an Olivia Likens assist.
NEB scored at the 23:45 mark to tie the game at two before the break and the Panthers sealed the win with a goal with 25 minutes left.
NEB held a 16-4 advantage in shots-on-goal and a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
Keeper Avalon Rew had 13 saves in net for the Tigers.
NP-Mansfield (0-11-1) is next scheduled to visit Meadowbrook Christian on Saturday.
