NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: COACHES NAME NINE WEST PLAYERS TO ALL-STAR TEAMS (2021-03-21)

Northern Tier West Sports Report
TIOGA COUNTY, PA — The NTL girls’ basketball coaches named their season award-winners and all-star teams Sunday. NP-Liberty placed three girls on the teams, while Williamson, Wellsboro and Cowanesque Valley each had two players recognized.

Towanda’s Paige Manchester was named Player of the Year, while teammate Porschia Bennet was Defensive Player of the Year and Maisie Neuber of NEB was the Offensive Player of the Year. Olivia Leichliter from Wyalusing is the Sixth Man of the Year, and Athen’s Brian Miller and staff are the Coaching Staff of the Year.

LARGE SCHOOL FIRST TEAM
Emma Coolidge, Wellsboro: The junior averaged 10.6 points per game and shot 65 percent from the line. She had 101 rebounds, 18 assists, six blocks and 38 steals for the 6-9 Hornets.

The rest of the Large School First Team players are Kayleigh Miller and Cadence Mack from Athens, Erin Barrett of Towanda, Sidney Taylor from Troy and Wyalusing’s Callie Bennett.

LARGE SCHOOL SECOND TEAM
Bailey Monks, Wellsboro: Monks, a senior, averaged 7.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and more than a steal and a block per game.

The remaining Second Team players are Catherine Brown and Madison Putnam of Wyalusing, Amanda Horton of Towanda, Rachel Kingsley from Troy and Athens’ Megan Collins.

SMALL SCHOOL FIRST TEAM
Eva Rice, NP-Liberty: The senior led the 7-10 Mounties in scoring at 10.3 points per game, including 20 three pointers and hitting 67 percent from the free-throw line. 

Lateisha Peterson, Williamson: Peterson was the second-leading scorer in the small school division, averaging 13.2 points per game. The senior grabbed 96 rebounds, had 40 steals and blocked 14 shots.

Taylor Rae Jones, Williamson: Only a freshman, Jones scored 10.2 points per game, including 14 threes. She barely missed averaging a double-double for the season, collecting 9.9 rebounds per game. Jones also had 44 steals, and dished out 51 assists.

The other players named to the small school first team are Lauryn Jones, Kayleigh Thoman and Alena Beebe, all from NEB.

SMALL SCHOOL SECOND TEAM
Kiersten Mitstifer, NP-Liberty: The senior averaged 6.4 points for the Mounties.

Elizabeth Richie, NP-Liberty: The sophomore scored just under five points per game.

Abby Ackley, Cowanesque Valley: Ackley, a senior, scored 10.7 points per game for the Warriors.

Paisley Nudd, Cowanesque Valley: A sophomore, Nudd scored seven points per game, including nine three-pointers.

The other two members of the second team are Canton’s Reagan Kelley and Aislyn Williams.
