INDIANA, PA — Collin Pietropola, a 2018 Wellsboro grad, anchored the offensive line for IUP this season, leading the Crimson Hawks to a 7-3 season that included a pair of wins over nationally-ranked opponents.

Pietropola, a junior, started every game at center for IUP, including in a season-opening 29-26 win over Kutztown. It would be the Golden Bears’ only loss on the season, as they won the PSAC Championship and are currently the #1 seed in the Northeast Super Regional of the National Division II Playoffs.

IUP also beat Slippery Rock, 48-21, who’s 9-2 record qualified them for the DII National Playoff as an at-large bid.

Pietropola and his line mates paved the way for the Hawks to average 155 yards per game on the ground, and nearly 400 yards of offense per game, good for 3rd best in the PSAC, and surrendered only eight sacks all season, tops in the conference.
