NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: LADY TIGERS FALL TO TOWANDA (2022-01-07)
By Lance LarcomNorthern Tier West Sports ReportMANSFIELD — The Tigers fell victim to a strong Black Knights squad as they were limited to two first-quarter points and six total points in the first half en route to a 43-19 loss in NTL Large-school girls’ basketball action Friday.
After a 25-2 advantage in the first quarter, Towanda outscored NP-Mansfield 9-4 in the second, for a 34-6 halftime lead.
The Tigers held a 7-4 advantage in the third quarter and outscored Towanda 6-5 in the fourth.
McKenna Lightner led NPM with six points, while Payton Chapel scored five points.
Shaniya Sparrow, Addison Farrer, Ella Swingle and Jolyn Farrell each added two points for the Tigers.
North Penn-Mansfield falls to 4-6 on the season with the loss.
