NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: WYALUSING RUNS AWAY FROM COWANESQUE VALLEY FOR WIN (2022-01-19)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWYALUSING — Cowanesque Valley was able to hang with Wyalusing for a quarter here Wednesday, but was held to 11 points over the final three quarters and fell to the Rams 64-27 in NTL Small School boys basketball action.
McGwire Painter scored 12 of his team-high 19 points in the first frame as the Indians stayed within three of Wyalusing and were down 19-16 entering the second quarter.
The Rams outscored CV 19-4 in the second quarter, then 17-3 in the third to keep the clock running through the rest of the game. A 9-4 final frame for Wyalusing secured the lopsided win.
Gage Tilton added four points for the Indians and Fletcher Good and Tucker St. Peter each scored two points.
Cowanesque Valley falls to 5-8 on the season with the loss. They are scheduled to host Towanda Friday.
