NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: WILLIAMSON TOPPED BY ATHENS (2022-01-20) Northern Tier West Sports Report ATHENS — Williamson fell behind early to Athens and couldn’t recover as the Wildcats ran away with a 58-27 win over the Lady Warriors in NTL girls crossover action Thursday.
Williamson scored nine first-quarter points to Athens’ 21, then suffered an 18-4 deficit in the second to fall behind 39-13 at the break.
Taylor Rae Jones connected on eight of her team-high 16 points in the third quarter as Athens extended their lead to 54-23, before a 4-4 fourth quarter provided the final.
Olivia Meisner added eight points, while Emma Meisner scored two points and Lena Lewis chipped in with a point.
The Lady Warriors fall to 3-7 on the season with the loss. They are scheduled to next play at Wyalusing on Saturday at noon.
