ROME — North Penn-Mansfield big man Brody Burleigh continued his consistent play this season and scored 19 points against Northeast Bradford to lead the Tigers to a 56-37 win over the Panthers in NTL boys crossover action Friday.

Burleigh has hit for double figures in 10 straight games for the now 9-2 Tigers, after a seven-point performance in NPM’s season-opening win.

Eli Shaw and Burleigh opened Friday’s game with four points each and leading scorer Karson Dominick scored five to give the Tigers a 14-10 lead after one quarter of play.

Burleigh and freshman Alex Davis each scored five second-quarter points as NPM extended their lead to 28-21 as they entered the break.

The Tigers limited NEB to four points in the third quarter and Burleigh scored seven of NPM’s 16 in the frame to give the Tigers a comfortable 44-25 lead as they started the final quarter.

A 12-12 quarter didn’t help NEB erase the deficit, as Burleigh, Eli and Cooper Shaw each scored three points in the quarter to seal the win.

Eli Shaw finished with 12 points on the night, while Dominick added 10 points and Davis had eight.

Sammy Lawrence scored four points and Cooper Shaw’s three rounded out the Tiger scoring attack for the night.

Now 9-2, NP-Mansfield is scheduled to host Wyalusing on Tuesday.
