NTWSR PRESENTS THE LAUREL HEALTH 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (2023-02-26) Northern Tier West Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — The Northern Tier West Sports Report is proud to recognize the following student athletes for their performances as the Laurel Health ‘Athletes of the Week’. WRESTLING George Valentine, North Penn-Liberty The sophomore went 3-2 at the District IV Championships, placing 7th at 189 pounds. BOYS BASKETBALL Derek Litzelman, North Penn-Liberty The senior scored 39 points to lift the Mounties to a one-point win over Lourdes Regional in the District quarterfinals, then scored 10 in a semifinal loss to Sullivan County. GIRLS BASKETBALL Haley Litzelman, North Penn-Liberty The freshman led the Lady Mounties to a first-round win with 21 points in the District playoffs. NPL then lost to Meadowbrook, where Litzelman had three points. |
