
WELLSBORO — North Penn-Liberty will continue their post-season run on Thursday when they take on Galeton in the consolation finals of the District IV Class A playoffs, to be played at Wellsboro High School.
The No. 3 seed Mounties entered the playoffs at 12-10 and now stand at 13-11 after a first-round win over Lourdes Regional and a semifinal loss to Sullivan County.
Galeton went 9-13 in the regular season and came in as the No. 5 seed. They beat Cowanesque Valley in the quarterfinals and lost to top-seeded Northumberland Christian to drop into the 3rd-4th place game.
North Penn-Liberty and Galeton played each other back in late December, with the Mounties earning a lopsided win over the Tigers, 56-26. Derek Litzelman had a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Daniel Dherant added 10 points and Adynn Wheeland had nine.
The winner of the game will qualify for the PIAA Class A Championship. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday at Wellsboro High School. Tickets must be purchased online, HERE.
