Northern Tier West Sports ReportWESTFIELD, Pa. — Athens poured 18 runs across the plate in the third inning on its way to a 25-1, three-inning win over Cowanesque Valley in NTL baseball action here Friday afternoon.
Athens took a 5-0 lead after one inning and led 7-0 going into the huge, 18-run third.
Cowanesque Valley used five pitchers in the game .. Isaiah Bogsch, Cayden Moon, Kaden Cole, Graham Hess and Levi Stahli .. who combined to give up 15 hits and 13 walks.
Nick West had CV’s lone hit and run scored in the third inning.
Cowanesque Valley, 1-1, is scheduled to return to action Tuesday at Towanda.
