Northern Tier West Sports ReportATHENS — PA District 15 champ Wellsboro fell in the first round of the 10U Sectional All-Star tournament here Monday as Selinsgrove edged the Hornets 2-1.
With the game tied 0-0 after five innings, Selinsgrove scored two runs in the top half of the sixth and Wellsboro answered with their lone run of the game in their final at-bat, coming up just short against the District 13 champions.
Wellsboro will now play Blue Mountain, winners of District 24, who lost 13-0 to District 12 champ Keystone on Monday. The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start in Athens.
