Northern Tier West Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION — Williamson scored with seven minutes left to cut Athens’ lead in half here Wednesday, but the Wildcats would hold off the Warriors’ comeback attempt and win the NTL match-up, 2-1.
Athens got their goals 12 minutes into the match and just before the break. Ruby Sherman got the Warriors on the scoreboard in the 73rd minute, but Athens would hold on to secure the league win.
Both squads had seven shots on goal, while Williamson keeper Ashley Woodring had five saves.
Williamson, now 5-2-1 on the season .. and 2-2-1 in the NTL .. will visit Addison on Friday.
