
WELLSBORO — The Hornets outshot Galeton 23-0 and earned their second shutout in a row by topping the Tigers 6-0 in boys soccer action Wednesday.
Caden Smith scored two goals for Wellsboro .. the first opened the scoring 12 minutes into the match and was assisted on by Micaiah Fitch and the second came with 12 minutes left in the first half off an assist from David Seeling.
Fitch found the net in between Smith’s goals, on an assist from Jacob Abadi, and the Hornets took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Thirteen minutes into the second half, Lucas Cuneo scored on an assist from Smith, followed by an unassisted goal by Nehemiah Burrous with 16 minutes left and a score with five minutes left by Gabe Sprouse off a pass from Cuneo that completed the scoring.
The Hornets also held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Wellsboro (8-2, 7-1 NTL) will return to action Thursday when they host Towanda.
