NTL GIRLS SOCCER: WILLIAMSON PULLS AWAY FROM TIGERS WITH BIG SECOND HALF (2023-09-28)

MANSFIELD — Williamson and North Penn-Mansfield were tied at halftime in their NTL match-up here Thursday, but the Warriors would score four unanswered goals in the second half to earn the 5-1 win.

Zeraya Wilson had a hat trick for the Warriors and opened the scoring with a goal 12 minutes in off an assist from Tori Stratton to give Williamson the early 1-0 lead. 

With less than four minutes remaining in the half, NPM’s Brooke Wilcox tied it up with a header off a Madalyn Morgan corner kick and the teams entered the break tied 1-1.

Wilson scored her second goal seven minutes into the second half, followed by a Jade Colwell goal midway through the half and a Robin Cummings score four minutes after Colwell’s. Wilson completed her hat trick with eight minutes left in the match off an assist from Alyvia Morgan.

Williamson outshot the Tigers 26-2 and held a 14-2 advantage in corner kicks. 

Warrior keeper Ashley Woodring had one save and Tierney Patterson had 21 stops in goal for North Penn-Mansfield.

Williamson (7-3-1) is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday against Northeast Bradford, while North Penn-Mansfield is next home with Meadowbrook Christian on Saturday at noon.
