VOLLEYBALL
Maggie McClaren, Cowanesque Valley .. had six blocks, three aces, eight kills and an assist in CV’s five set, District 4 final loss to South Williamsport.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Lauren Kosek, Wellsboro .. finished 40th overall in 20:29 in the PIAA Cross Country Class AA Championship race.
BOYS SOCCER
Caden Smith, Wellsboro .. scored the Hornets’ lone goal .. his 19th of the season .. in Wellsboro’s 4-1 loss to Midd-West in the District 4 semifinals.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Kristian Mizdail, Cowanesque Valley .. earned his second cross-country state medal on Saturday at the PIAA Championships, placing 12th in the Class AA race with a time of 16:29.
FOOTBALL
Karson Dominick & Cooper Shaw, North Penn-Mansfield .. in the Panthers’ 62-20 first-round District 4 playoff loss, the duo combined for 227 passing yards, 103 receiving yards and 35 rushing yards while each threw a touchdown pass to the other and Shaw added a rushing score. Defensively, Shaw had six tackles and forced a fumble, while Dominick handled all of NPM’s kicking duties and had three punts and three kickoffs.
