Head Coach Kim Daugherty and the Indians opened the season with four straight losses .. to 20-4 Oswayo Valley, to NTL-I champ North Penn-Liberty, against District 2A semifinalist Wellsboro and to NTL-II and District 4 2A champ Northeast Bradford.

After snapping the losing streak with their first win of the season over Athens, CV dropped two matches to 13-4 Austin and fell 3-2 to 15-5 Williamson to stand at 1-7 on the year. 

CV would win four of their next five matches and went 8-5 the rest of the regular season to finish 9-12 overall and as the second ranked Class A team in the District. Against South Williamsport in the District final, the Indians won the second and third sets but ultimately fell 3-2 to the Mounties to bring their season to an end.

Senior Maggie McClaren led the Indians with 162 kills in 83 sets played and added 44 aces and 88 blocks, while classmate Katie Adams had 92 kills and 44 aces and fellow-senior Madison Schoonover had 75 kills and 72 blocks. 

Junior Maddison Hartman had 329 assists on the season and added 32 kills and 22 aces while junior Lexi Shenk had 31 kills, 27 aces and 17 assists, Madison Vandemark had 18 kills and 16 aces and junior Autumn Mead had 65 kills.

McClaren, Adams and Schoonover were the lone seniors on the Indians’ roster, while juniors included Shenk, Lily Vargeson, Jesse Quick, Vandemark, Hartman and Mead and Arianna Cary was the only sophomore for CV.

The Indians’ final 9-13 record is a seven-win improvement over CV’s last two seasons, when the Indians went 2-16 in both 2021 and 2022.
