Northern Tier West Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — There were some solid performances put forth by our local girl soccer players this past season, none more impressive than the play of back-to-back, All-Tioga County Girls Soccer Player of the Year, Williamson goalie Ashley Woodring.
Woodring, a junior, was phenomenal throughout the season, allowing just 16 goals (.89/per), never giving up more than two goals in a match and recording 87 saves with eight shutouts for the Warriors.
Woodring’s teammate Zeraya Wilson is both the All-Tioga County ‘Offensive Player of the Year’ and ’Newcomer of the Year’ after the sophomore led the Warriors with 11 goals and added five assists.
Senior Maddie Millard anchored a very strong Williamson defense for the Lady Warriors and is the All-Tioga County ‘Defensive Player of the Year’.
Williamson Head Coach Jason Hungerford led the Warriors to a 13-5-1 record, including a 7-4-1 record in the NTL, and is the All-Tioga County Girls Soccer Coach of the Year.
Joining Wilson as forwards on the All-Tioga County Team are: Maeve Ficks, Williamson, FR (6G, 2A), Maddie Bailey, Williamson, SO (7G, 2A), Kyra Daley, Williamson, SR (5G, 8A) and Brooke Wilcox, NP-Mansfield, SO (12G).
The All-Tioga County midfielders are: Cassidy Mitchell, Wellsboro, JR (3G, 5A), Maddie Morgan, NPM, SR (4A), Ruby Sherman, Williamson, SR, Ella Churchill, Williamson, JR (7G, 4A) and Sarah Seeling, Wellsboro, SR (7G, 1A).
Defensive Player of the Year Millard is joined on the All-Tioga County Team by Miriah Buck, Williamson, JR, Jade Colwell, Williamson, JR, Abby Owlett, Wellsboro, SR and Abby Garverick, NPM, SO.
