TOWANDA — North Penn-Mansfield used a huge third quarter and 30 points from Karson Dominick to overcome a halftime deficit and down the host Black Knights 62-46 in NTL large school boys basketball action here Thursday night.
The Tigers fell behind 20-15 after the first quarter, despite seven early points by Jason Harer and six from Dominick, and Towanda extended their lead to six at 29-23 at the break with a 9-8 second quarter.
Mansfield exploded for a 23-3 third quarter where Dominick scored 14 of his game-high 30 points and Tate Strange added five points and Cooper Shaw had four.
With a 46-32 lead going into the final frame, the Tigers added to their lead as Strange and Dominick each finished the game with six-point fourth quarters and Harer scored his final four points.
Harer finished with 13 points while Strange had 11 and Shaw added eight.
Mansfield, now 12-3 overall on the season and 4-2 in the large school division, is scheduled to travel to Northwest Area on Saturday.
