Mizdail ran a season best 4:21.35 and finished seventh in the fast heat. However, it was a very competitive field and a pair of runners from the second heat snuck into the top eight.

Eighth place was 4:20.68.

Mizdail has one more chance at an individual state medal as he runs the 3200 on Saturday morning.
