NTL GIRLS SOCCER: WILLIAMSON STARTS SEASON 1-0 WITH WIN OVER NEB (2024-08-27)

ROME — The Williamson Lady Warriors opened their 2024 season on the road and came home with a 3-0 win over Northeast Bradford on Tuesday.

Ella Churchill scored Williamson’s first goal of the season in the first half, assisted on by Maddie Bailey, and the Warriors led 1-0 at intermission.

Zeraya Wilson scored an unassisted goal in the second half and Bailey assisted on a goal by Alexis Sprague to give Williamson the 3-0 win.

The Lady Warriors held a 15-3 advantage in shots-on-goal and keeper Ashley Woodring stopped all three Lady Panther attempts. 

New Williamson Head Coach Felisha Hackett pointed to the Lady Warriors’ strong defense, good passing and over-all excellent teamwork as the keys to their season-opening win. 

The Lady Warriors (1-0) are scheduled to host Troy on Thursday for their home opener.
