MANSFIELD — Down three at halftime, North Penn-Mansfield went scoreless in the third quarter as Montoursville pulled away for a 55-36 win in non-league boys basketball play on Saturday.
The visiting 4A Warriors took an 11-9 lead after one quarter and a 24-21 lead into the break before blanking the Tigers 9-0 in the third quarter to go up 33-21.
Cooper Shaw recorded a double-double in the loss for Mansfield, with 14 points and 16 rebounds. Tate Strange scored 11 points, Andy Hermansen had 4, Alex Davis had 3 points and Brady Stetter and Patrick Youmans each had 2 points.
North Penn-Mansfield (7-3) is scheduled to start a four game road trip on Tuesday at Athens.
