NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: HORNETS EARN LARGE SCHOOL WIN AT WYALUSING (2025-01-07)

WYALUSING — Wellsboro won their second straight large school contest and got back to .500 on the season Tuesday as they cruised to a 56-41 win over the host Wyalusing Rams.

The Hornets built a 15 point halftime lead after going up 18-10 after the first quarter behind 9 points from Mitchel Lechler and doubling the Rams up 14-7 in the second frame. A 15-12 Hornet third quarter was followed by the Rams taking the final frame 12-9.

Lechler led a balanced scoring attack with 13 points while Collin Fletcher had 12 points, Marek Mascho had 10 and Griffin Morral had 9 points. Luke Rothermel and Ransom Schultz had 4 points each and Max Mascho and Jonathan Carl each scored 2 points. 

Rothermel had 7 rebounds while Carl had 6 rebounds and 3 steals and Schultz had 5 boards. Marek Mascho had 4 assists and Lechler had 3.

Wellsboro, now 5-5 on the season, is set to host Towanda on Thursday.
