NTL WRESTLING: MOUNTIES EARN DUAL MEET WIN OVER TROY (2025-01-07)

BLOSSBURG — Down 22 points to the visiting Trojans, North Penn-Liberty won the final five matches and downed Troy 40-34 in an NTL wrestling dual meet here Tuesday.

Troy went up 18-0 with a pair of forfeit wins and a Logann Heasley fall over North Penn-Liberty’s Terrell Rinebold at 145 pounds. 

Riley Oakes earned a fall at 160 and Easton Pequignot won by forfeit at 172 to cut Troy’s lead to 18-12.

Troy got wins at 189 pounds, 215 and 285 to go up 34-12 when the Mounties ran off five straight.

Bodhi Nickerson earned a major decision at 107 and Bryce Pequignot got an 8 second pin at 114 to make it 34-22. Aidan Whitteker (121) and Charles Aumick (127) earned forfeit wins to tie the match at 34-all and Brayden Pequignot sealed the dual meet win with a fall in 3:40 at 133 pounds.

The Mounties will return to action this weekend when they compete at the 53-team Mid-Winter Mayhem tournament at IUP.
