Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportMANSFIELD — The Lady Tigers couldn’tt hold their slim first quarter lead as Wyalusing pulled away for a 62-46 win in an NTL large school girls basketball match-up here Friday.
Kameron Lightner, Raegan Watkins and Elaina Shaw each scored four first quarter points as North Penn-Mansfield took a 14-13 lead into the second frame. But the visiting Lady Rams outscored Mansfield 35-20 over the middle quarters to take a 48-34 lead into the final quarter and held the Tigers off with a 14-12 fourth.
Lightner finished with a double-double of 14 points and 17 rebounds to lead Mansfield, adding a pair of assists and steals, while Maddie McNamara had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and a blocked shot.
Shaw scored 9 points and had 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists, Claire Dominick had 7 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds and Watkins had 4 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and a block.
NP-Mansfield (5-7) is scheduled to return to action next Wednesday at home against Towanda.
