NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: TIGERS EARN MERCY RULE WIN OVER CV (2025-01-11)

WESTFIELD — North Penn-Mansfield built a big halftime lead and used a 24-2 third quarter to mercy rule the host Cowanesque Valley Indians, 76-42.

NPM’s Cooper Shaw led a consistent offense with 20 points, including 14 in the first quarter as the Tigers took a 27-11 lead on the Indians. Jason Harer added 16 points off the bench and Brady Stetter joined Shaw and Harer in double figures with 11 points. 

CV kept pace with the Tigers in the second quarter, but Mansfield extended their lead to 48-30 by the half. A huge third quarter by Mansfield, with 6 points each from Shaw, Harer and Tate Strange, put NPM up 40 at 72-32. 

Strange finished with 9 points while Alex Davis had 8, Andy Hermansen had 6 and Kevin Clemente-Vasquez, Patrick Youmans and Austin Andrews had 2 points each.

For CV, Ashtyn Burdick led the way with 11 points while Parker Lee had 10, Carsyn Kemp had 7 points, Levi Stahli scored 6 points, Josh Teague had 4 points and Gavin Churchill and Jacob Johnson had 2 points each.

North Penn-Mansfield (10-2) is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday at Towanda, while CV (2-10) will visit Northeast Bradford, also on Tuesday.
