Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWELLSBORO — Down just six at halftime, the Lady Hornets were outscored 30-4 in the second half and lost to Towanda 50-18 in an NTL large school match-up here Saturday afternoon.
Towanda led 13-10 after the first quarter and 20-14 at the break before pulling away with a 21-2 third quarter and a 9-2 final frame.
Paige Logsdon led the Hornets with 6 points while Teagan Novinger added 4 points, Kate Bryant and Chloe Brandenburg had 3 points each and Lily Wagner had 2 points.
Now 5-14 on the season, Wellsboro has two games remaining, starting Tuesday when they host Troy.
