
WELLSBORO — The Hornets fell to Central Columbia 50-23 here Monday to finish 10-12 on the year, not enough to qualify for the District 4 playoffs and bringing their 2024-’25 season to an end.
The 4A Blue Jays jumped out to 14-8 and 32-13 leads on host Wellsboro and extended it to 46-17 after the third quarter. The Hornets edged CC 6-4 in the final frame.
Mitch Lechler and Luke Rothermel led the Hornets with 7 points each while Ransom Schultz had 4 points, Ethan Keane had 3 points and Marek Mascho chipped in with 2 points.
Schultz had 5 rebounds, Griffin Morral had 4 assists and Marek Mascho had 3 steals in the loss.
Wellsboro (10-12) finishes the season with a 9-7 record in the NTL and a 5-5 mark in the large school division.
