
ROME, PA — The North Penn-Mansfield girls’ soccer team kicked off their 2021 season Saturday, dropping a pair of games at the Northeast Bradford tournament.
The Lady Tigers were outgunned in their first game, giving up 27 shots on goal with none of their own and falling 7-0 to Loyalsock. Tierney Patterson had 16 saves in goal for NPM.
In the second game, Lysabeth Likens and Nikki Kisscadden gave North Penn-Mansfield a 2-1 halftime lead, and Madison Post scored in the second half, but the Tigers fell 4-3 to Elk Lake.
Patterson recorded 11 saves as Elk Lake took 15 shots on goal to NPM’s eight.
The losses leave North Penn-Mansfield at 0-2 to start the season. They’ll return to action Wednesday when they visit Wellsboro for a scheduled 5:30 p.m. start.
